Hi readers this is Tyler here and I am going to be talking about an assignment we got about all the different places that kids call "home' and how they differ from each other. I hope you enjoy this blog post. For more information please check out my teachers blog for details: Where Children Eat and Sleep
In the Namgay family of Shingkhey Village, they manly get mushrooms, cheese and pork, they spend 224.93 ngultrum but in Canadian dollars that's only $5.03. This shocked me, and got me thinking, maybe if I went to live there I would be rich. I could make a difference in this developing country and that really got me going. In there they get their food and they sleep, eat, poo, pee, and work, they don't even have a computer or a book to read, it made me feel bad, it made me think, if I have all of this so easily and take it for granted, then why aren't we trying to make a difference in places like Namgay?
When I was watching the Where Children Sleep slidshow, I felt sympathy for all of them, but one of them shocked me so much I wouldn't shut up about it, and that is because I read about "Anonymos" this kid doesn't have a name, that's horrible! To not be able to called by something that symbolizes who you are, is apalling. If I saw that family I would give them as much money as I could, it's so bad that we let things like this happen in the world, are we really that greedy? Can't you spare $10, so that they can get food at least, or give them enough money to buy a tent or some kind of shelter? Show the poor that we are not all greedy people and we are aware, and helping people, that are there for you when you need us.

CIA World Fact Book
For more information on this assignment please lick this link: Assignment.
1. I visted the CIA world faactbook and found this very interesting: The fertility rate in China is very low, and it got me wondering what they do to the other child if they have twins. Compared to Canada has a higher fertility rate than China.
2.In Canada 15% of the population is 0-14 years of age, in China 17.6% is 0-14, and in Canada 68% of the worlds population is 15-64, but in China 73.6% are 15-64, which got me thinking why does China have more in both of those compared to Canada?
3. In China ther are about 26k deaths from HIV, but in Canada there are less than 1k, why is it higher in China and why don't we do somthing about it?

Childhood Memories
For information on this assignment please go to here: Childhood Memories. This was a hard assignment for me because I'm adopted and I can't remember anything before the age of 6, and I just don't know why it's like a blank when I try to think about. So I mustered all the memories I could remember my sister Skyla telling me, and came up with this. Enjoy!:
1. Franklin the Turtle
My most favourite book when I was younger was the Franklin books.
He was my idol for a very long time, that rhyme at the beginning of the book and his shows(which I never missed)still rings in my head to this day, in case you haven't heard it before(which is totally not possible) here it is:
Franklin can count by twos and tie his shoes.
He can zip zippers and button buttons.
He can count forwards and backwards.
Now that I look back on some meanings of his shows it really makes sense, it tells us that friendship is important and all we need to do is be ourselfs. I read and watch Franklin the Turtle very little to this day because it's hard to find a channle that plays his shows.
2. The Barney Show
This one is kind of funny because for as long as I can remember I despise The Barney Show. But acording to the person that knows me the best(my sister)I would screem my head off whenever someone changed the channel, when The Barney Show was on, and aparently I always knew when it was on so I would jump in front of the T.V and keep on whining "Barney, I want Barney" until someone put Barney on. I will not put the theme song on here because that would be an insult to my blog, and I very much despise of it.
3.The third thing is

Discussion #4 Summary
Thank you Jumanah, Tara, Max, and Tanisha for your contributations to our discussions. It is because of you guys that our discussions have been so enjoyable! Our discussion went really well considering that some people fell behind and caught up. I still haven't heard Tanisha's answer to my question, I am assuming that she is sick or away on vacation. I really enjoy the Digital Literacy Circles that we have. I try to encourage people to read when they haven't even read the book yet except for the title page. Like someone I will not name. I think my groups answers have really good points to them. I agree with all of them.

Geography Assignment
Hey my favourite bloggers, this is an assignment about these two videos that my class and I have watched. They are about the fact that at the end of 2011 the world will have a population of about 7 billion people. If you have not watched or want to watch the videos then please check out these links: 7 Billion, and Typical Person. After you watch these videos please visit this assignment on my teachers blog: Geography Assignment. There are 7 parts to this assignment. Let us start!
Part 1: I have to find the definition of globalization then link to it, after that I have to write a definition in my own words.
Definition: I found a definition of Globalization on an online Dictionary.
In my own words I think that globalization means to spread our population all over the world so that we are populating everywhere not just in certain areas.
Part 2: I have to visit a website called "The Face of Tomorrow". Then I have to fool around on another website called Map Page.
Part 3: I have to tell my theory on how someone can find the average faces of different people and races.
Part 7: I have to write in full sentences about my family and my reassemblence to them. And if my face resembles my nationality.
I think that my face resebles a chinese man and a white women. That is the nationality of my biological parrents, I am adopted and the funny thing is that my adoptive parrents are the same but different genders.
I hope you enjoy this!

Part 3: I have to tell my theory on how someone can find the average faces of different people and races.
I think that taking a picture of lots of people both male and female then stacking them together and make the face stand out more than the rest of the body. I have gone on a website called Face Research and I put two chinese guys and two white guys together and found the average. This is what I got:
Me |
Part 4: I have to write three interesting things I found while playing around with the website Face of Tomorrow(you can see the link in Part 2) in full sentences.
1.I found out that the website was made so that we could see the "faces of tomorrow" meaning that we could see what the faces of the world will look like in the future. Not the future like 2 mins from now but in 200 years maybe.
2.What surprised me was that some races have an actual resemblance to each other.3.I expected more of an anime thing not actual pictures of faces that were taken!
Part 5: I am supposed to fool around with a website called Face Research. After I did that I created an average that I thought were the faces of tomorrow, and I saved it.
Part 6: I have to write 3 reasons why I think that the pictures above are the faces of tomorrow.
1.First of all I think that in the future the average person will be white.
2.Second I think that people are unique in their own way but also have their own identity.
3.The last reason is that there are more black and brunettes than Red and Blonde hair.Part 7: I have to write in full sentences about my family and my reassemblence to them. And if my face resembles my nationality.
